“I got involved with local politics to expand the sidewalks at YCCC. With your vote on June 10th, I will continue to fight for decent infrastructure, outdoor recreation, fair wages, and the protection of our critical public services.”

A Vote For Avery is a Vote for:

  • Before they were shut down, our trolleys used to move 50,000 people over just 3 months! I intend to reestablish service between Wells and Kennebunk with a modern fleet of trolleys manufactured right here in our town. I will work with YCCC to offset the cost of CDL certifications. We should also explore a route extension and a local transit pass for more seamless transfers between the Orange and Red Lines. These steps will improve boarding times and rider experience on both services. No matter if you’re too young for a license, too old to drive, a cash strapped collage student, or you just don’t want to fight over parking spots at the beach, you deserve a cheap and efficient way to get to your destination.

  • Nature preserves and trails like Fenderson Commons, Rachel Carson Refuge, Laudholm Farm, and many others make Wells a great place to live! I will work closely with the Conservation Committee and Planning Board to direct resources to maintain and expand our public land. Extending the Eastern Trail to Wells is a high priority for me! A few years ago, I had the opportunity to travel the East Coast Greenway from Maine to Key West. I saw how having a safe place to walk dogs, commute, jog, or just to get out for some fresh air can genuinely transform peoples lives. Bringing these benefits to Wells will be massive for our community!

  • Did you know that last year Wells cut three lifeguard stands from our beaches? Our lifeguards are key to keeping locals and visitors safe. Despite roughly half of our guards working multiple jobs, many of them cannot afford housing in Wells. The cost of living has shot up each year, but your wages haven’t moved. From snow plow drivers to librarians, the employees that make this town great deserve a chance to negotiate for better pay, healthcare, and the dignity of a fair deal.

  • If you have ever walked anywhere in Wells, you will know that our pedestrian infrastructure is not the best. From poles in the walkway to pavers that abruptly end in grass ditches, we need a massive sidewalk overall. I will do everything in my power to force the State and Feds to follow through on funding and building roughly 5 miles of new sidewalk. I will push for a multi-use path between YCCC and the Train Station. Connecting our community with sidewalks will go a long way to boost safety, reduce traffic, and make our town more friendly to everyone!

“I highly endorse Avery Seuter for a seat on the Select Board in Wells. He is an independent thinker who has the needs of the people of Wells at the forefront of his efforts.”
